Day 1 Update
A surprisingly fluid and stress free travel day. Easy parking in the Dulles economy late and quick bus ride to the airport. Quick baggage check at the Air Canada counter, no wait breeze through the TSA-prev security entrance, short walk to our flight gate, and an on time departure to Montréal - no weather issues!
Arrival in Montréal and clearance through customs was a taxing long walk and cattle call shuffle through hundreds of fellow travelers, but seamless at the end when we were able to find our checked luggage. The line for a taxi was the longest I have ever seen, but we were able to get an Uber with no difficulty.
Arrived at our comfortable hotel in the heart of the old city by 6:30 and able to get a nice table at a popular French restaurant with live jazz at 7:30. Enjoyed a fine dinner and conversation with a couple from Witicha Kansas - the husband in town for work - and their focus on the upcoming wedding of one of their six adult children!
I am surprised by how crowded the streets are with other visitors - a very lively night scene.
Rain forecast for tomorrow.
